Joining the Air Force...Need medical clearance advice!? - does having herpes disqualify you from the military
Bare with me Alright. I decided to join the Air Force approximately 3 months. When I saw the recruiter I am left with a thick application were completed and brought me the next day. At that time, had no previous illnesses of any kind, so I finished. Two months later, 12 shots, and an error Sexual later I learned that I herpes. He had no insurance, so I went for a walk in the middle of the clinic to be checked and the doctor told me not to forget about the cold, and not all that test for them. He was a doctor. Basically Do not Ask Do not Tell.
Now it is almost time for me to go to the members. The doctor said if I no physical signs that would be fine. Well, I can9, T, and herpes is, in fact, is not a disqualifying factor, if not uncontrollable outbursts. Now, my questions ...
Will they question me about my medical history, once again receive the benefit of Members, even if they have already completed this documentation in the application?
Would it be possible for them to find this information in a clinic, even if I am not insured?
MEPS does not even try to dig these things?
Basically, I'm incline to the opinion of the doc and go with the Do not Ask Do not Tell the theory ... What would you do?

Hmm, i wouldnt fully trust the doctors "dont ask dont tell ".... every year, because my husband been tested for everything. And really despise people who [Arent honest in their applications, not my brother because he was in prison, before ... and he was almost out, after he realized that he did not understand that] honesty is an important element in the army. and if this is not a disqualifying Facor ... Why bother?
If you tell me that he had never seen a doctor in your life or your recruiter have to dig all of your medical records do not, will not know the hospital gave you hear me not only your recruiter will tell you what it should say and what not to say, good luck
I was in a similar situation as you, and I was sent to the members
I'll give you the advantage of knowing that the members can and can not check your medical history / record. You know how many recruits go through the construction of the members and what is not. Tell me, what I am is about the implementation date in the history that you nail. This is not only technically you have no right to check the medical history, "said the doctor-patient confidentiality" thing.
What you can check your criminal history, and the causes with the FBI to search its database with the national context, and whether they also have an entry.
In short, if you go to the members to act dumb, and you have to act to me how stupid that I do not know sOT did not even know what herpes. And you'll end the military doctor him good advice.

A large percentage of the population has herpes and most do not know. Have you ever seen a cold sore? When he does the herpes virus. Do not worry about telling them. The doctor was right. They will not dig up information about you and the clinic could not communicate your health information anyway. I was in the Air Force and had to undergo a flight physical was very intense! It is not said is the best option. Herpes is not a disqualification factor so do not worry. I hope that your experience in the AF is a good idea. It is the best branch of service
I hate to tell you, but many young people only Military Recruiting Services and sexually transmitted diseases or HIV or before school TECH days after 8wks to go without sex. I think it would be nice. I think the time it would u control it is beautiful.
and many people are MEPS modified on drugs, smoking, alcoholism, abuse, etc. I would like to keep the lid. Men dont ask dont tell policy beinng gay, but I do not see how they affect your ability to fight herpes Stae.
But choose the best of luck with what you are.
